Skip Beat! is one of my favorite Manga of all time。 Started in high school and continuing on this today。 In this Volume we have Kyoko still trying to find the courage to face her friend Moko about the part she didn't get。 While at the same time Ren is getting some unwanted publicity about him kissing the ex porn star Kana。 one top of trying to find the right time to ask Kyoko about "the kiss" she had with Fewa a few volumes back。 but when he did eventually ask it didn't quit go according to plan Skip Beat! is one of my favorite Manga of all time。 Started in high school and continuing on this today。 In this Volume we have Kyoko still trying to find the courage to face her friend Moko about the part she didn't get。 While at the same time Ren is getting some unwanted publicity about him kissing the ex porn star Kana。 one top of trying to find the right time to ask Kyoko about "the kiss" she had with Fewa a few volumes back。 but when he did eventually ask it didn't quit go according to plan。 Kyoko kind of freaked out and said things she didn't mean to say or have then come across。 also we find out that even though Moko didn't get that part in the movie Kyoko's in she was asked to play another project by the same director。 This Volume felt to me like a filler volume don't get me wrong is still liked it, it keeps the story line moving forward but slowly。 。。。more

The jealousy and misunderstandings in this volume was such a rollercoaster! Whew! Loved every page!!

Unnecessary drama but 🤷‍♀️

OMG! The jealousy in this one。 The misspeaking and dancing between Ren and Kyoko is so crazy adorable。 But this volume was very slow and very character-focused。 It was worth it though, as it showed so much development。 And the bonus story at the end with the lamb was too cute! I love it and how Kyoko is starting to open up。 A good thing as trouble is brewing with other "relationships" coming into play。 OMG! 3。5 / 5 Lots of misunderstandings and drama in this one, especially between Ren and Kyoko, though as a whole it didn't seem like there was much else happening。 Would have been nice to have a bit more action in this one 8'DDefinitely seems as though the manga may be approaching its conclusion now, and I'm curious to see where things are going to wind up at the end。。。 Chapter notes below for personal reference: (potentially spoiler heavy)(view spoiler)[Act 264。 (view spoiler)[Why did they stumble 3。5 / 5 Lots of misunderstandings and drama in this one, especially between Ren and Kyoko, though as a whole it didn't seem like there was much else happening。 Would have been nice to have a bit more action in this one 8'DDefinitely seems as though the manga may be approaching its conclusion now, and I'm curious to see where things are going to wind up at the end。。。 Chapter notes below for personal reference: (potentially spoiler heavy)(view spoiler)[Act 264。 (view spoiler)[Why did they stumble when they heard who Kyoko’s sword master was? Great readI love this series。 The humor, emotion, and grit never fails to disappoint。 I cannot wait until the next issue。 I wonder if either of them can clear up their misunderstanding and if so, how。 I absolutely love this series and the art!

Colleen

We are getting so close to Ren and Kyoko confessing their feelings! I am getting really impatient for all the reveals to happen, but I have to remember it may have only been a year or two since the beginning of the series。 I do not want Sho to mess up Ren and Kyoko, because I think Ren and Kyoko belong together for they are a much better fit。 Verdict: Can we get to the next bit please?!

So many misunderstandings! I won't be able to believe in any romance between Ren and Kyoko actually start talking to each other and having proper conversations that avoid simple misunderstandings。 So many misunderstandings! After a year since the previous volume, this felt way too short!! Nothing solid, story wise, was revealed/discussed。 Even for a manga volume, it feels incomplete。

Brandi (Brandi Janee's Bookshelf)

It's always frustrating when Kyoko and Ren have a big misunderstanding and don't talk because of that。 At this point things are just kind of a mess and I want it fixed! On some level you have to just salute the author for getting to volume 44 and still no hint of where the story is going in sight! I love Skip Beat!

Skip Beat will continue on being my favorite manga of the romance genre。 This volume brings so many hilarious things, plenty of tears on Kyoko's part, and a very tense confrontation with a P'd。O。 Ren。 The ending has me all giggly for the future of the plot with Kyoko and Moko。 And the short story was A CHARM。 <3 Skip Beat will continue on being my favorite manga of the romance genre。 This volume brings so many hilarious things, plenty of tears on Kyoko's part, and a very tense confrontation with a P'd。O。 Ren。 The ending has me all giggly for the future of the plot with Kyoko and Moko。 And the short story was A CHARM。 <3 。。。more

I hadn't done well at keeping up with these as they came out, and ended up reading v。 42 and 43 back-to-back。 I ordered this one as soon as I knew it had come out earlier this month, and gobbled it up right after it showed up in the mail。。。。and now I'm going to have to wait a while for the next one。 (sniffle)This volume's a lot more focused on Ren and Kyoko's relationship。 Is it possible that their misunderstanding could get worse? They're both so reticent, for their own reasons, and they're naive about love, and they've each seen the other in situations that would take an extreme stretch to not interpret in a way that pulls them apart。 It's a great slow burn, but these two need to 'fess up already, so we can see more about the cool ninja TV show that Kyoko and Moko are acting in。 I enjoy the parts about Kyoko learning how to act just as much as I do her snail's-pace creeping away from hate and toward love。I guess I'll have to watch the Skip-Beat! anime a second time, and read the whole series through again*, while I wait for vol。 45。*I'll probably skip a couple of "method acting real life 'characters'" arcs, though。 。。。more

Nakamura-san continues to deliver on the tragic romance (mis-romance?) between Tsuruga and Kyoko。 While waiting a year for this volume was agony, the continued suspense and layering of drama was worth the extra six months (sort of - it's always pins and needles and an endless counting of days between each English release)。 There's never any lessening in the quality of the artwork, and the emotion stretches through your body, prompting visceral reactions along with the characters。 Nakamura-san ha Nakamura-san continues to deliver on the tragic romance (mis-romance?) between Tsuruga and Kyoko。 While waiting a year for this volume was agony, the continued suspense and layering of drama was worth the extra six months (sort of - it's always pins and needles and an endless counting of days between each English release)。 There's never any lessening in the quality of the artwork, and the emotion stretches through your body, prompting visceral reactions along with the characters。 Nakamura-san has a true gift。 And, at long last, the bonus answers the aching question readers have pondered for VOLUMES: what was the gift Kyoko was so worried about on Tsuruga's birthday? (I won't reveal spoilers - I'll simply promise it was perfect and a sweet ending to the volume) Now I have to bide my time once again, but only for six months this time。 Still much too long with another cliffhanger, but I'll have to manage。 。。。more

Story is 5 stars, electronic version has a little problemIf you are checking a review for the 44th volume of this ongoing manga, you already know that the forte of this mangaka is the story。 The story continues to be interesting and I'm amazed that the author can keep creating tension and surprise。 The drawings are nice but not the author's best。 I think the quality of the drawings peaked during the Caine and sister arch and are now not as nice and confident as they used to be。 There were a coup Story is 5 stars, electronic version has a little problemIf you are checking a review for the 44th volume of this ongoing manga, you already know that the forte of this mangaka is the story。 The story continues to be interesting and I'm amazed that the author can keep creating tension and surprise。 The drawings are nice but not the author's best。 I think the quality of the drawings peaked during the Caine and sister arch and are now not as nice and confident as they used to be。 There were a couple of times that I had to get a second look to identify main characters (Fuwa and Ren)。As I said in the title, the electronic version has a little problem: On chapter 265, location 30, there are two pages fused together。 The majority of the page is one we have already seen a little back and the one it should be is maybe a fourth of the page。 I'm choosing to be optimistic and think that we are only missing one page, but it is a fact that when we turn to the next page, there is a jump in the story (meaning it might be two pages)。 And yes, there are some typos but no major problems with translation。 You might be asking why I continue to give the book 5 stars taking into account the dip in the drawing quality and the e-book blip。 It's because I don't think those things really matter in the overall enjoyment you get from the story and, I'm not ashamed to say, I want the publisher to continue to publish this series in the USA so that, someday, I get to know the end of this story。 。。。more
